Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which rose 2.37% or 4.40 points to trade at 190.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.08% or 0.07 points to end at 6.58 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 1.06% or 0.05 points to 4.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which fell 2.49% or 2.60 points to trade at 101.90 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 1.52% or 0.13 points to end at 8.40 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 1.41% or 0.30 points to 21.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 290 to 249 and 132 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.71% or 0.36 to $50.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $56.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.12% or 12.80 to trade at $1131.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.14% to 4.1080, while USD/PLN rose 0.12% to 3.7877.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 97.99.
