Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which rose 12.45% or 0.610 points to trade at 5.510 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) added 10.09% or 0.550 points to end at 6.000 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) was up 6.06% or 0.0040 points to 0.0700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Milpo (LM:MIL), which lost 1.86% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.700 in late trade. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 1.32% or 2.20 points to end at 164.00 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) shed 0.48% or 0.040 points to 8.210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 8 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.56% or 1.24 to $49.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.51 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.60 to trade at $1253.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2425, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4895.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 99.78.
