Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.34% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 7.89% or 0.370 points to trade at 5.060 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.45% or 0.61 points to end at 42.81 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 1.23% or 0.080 points to 6.605 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which lost 1.60% or 0.68 points to trade at 41.80 in late trade. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) declined 0.70% or 0.30 points to end at 42.83 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) shed 0.39% or 0.12 points to 30.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 57 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.21% or 0.67 to $54.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.07% or 0.57 to hit $52.73 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1133.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0434, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8449.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 102.98.
