Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Stores & Supplies and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Commercial Credit and Finance PLC (CM:COMN) was up 11.57% or 5.60 points to 54.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 21.68% or 498.20 points to trade at 1800.00 in late trade. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 9.32% or 7.50 points to end at 73.00 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) shed 7.32% or 2.70 points to 34.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 75 and 69 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.35% or 0.62 to $45.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.44% or 0.69 to hit $47.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.95 to trade at $1341.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.26% to 189.825, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 146.380.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.23.
