Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Services and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.65% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 18.17% or 245.20 points to trade at 1595.00 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was up 11.68% or 2.30 points to 22.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 6.25% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.50 in late trade. Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) declined 5.88% or 0.10 points to end at 1.60 and Fortress Resorts Plc (CM:RHTL) shed 4.52% or 0.70 points to 14.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 45 and 39 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.69% or 0.30 to $43.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.31% or 0.57 to hit $44.20 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1267.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.22% to 210.450, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 146.035.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.17.
