Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.42% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which rose 14.41% or 0.340 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 4.51% or 0.022 points to end at 0.510 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 4.46% or 0.050 points to 1.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 11.48% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.185 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 2.66% or 0.350 points to end at 12.800 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) shed 2.27% or 0.100 points to 4.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 9 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.14% or 0.07 to $51.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $56.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.23 to trade at $1283.47 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2671, while EUR/PEN rose 0.10% to 3.8569.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.91.
