Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Beverages & Tobacco and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.3000 at the close. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) added 17.65% or 0.300 points to end at 2.000 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was up 15.72% or 4.70 points to 34.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT), which lost 17.86% or 5.00 points to trade at 23.00 in late trade. Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) declined 17.35% or 139.60 points to end at 665.20 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) shed 12.50% or 0.200 points to 1.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 62 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.28% or 0.14 to $49.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $52.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.80 to trade at $1249.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 188.850, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 151.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 99.99.
