Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Travel & Leisure and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 3.87% or 0.390 points to trade at 10.470 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 2.67% or 0.0215 points to end at 0.8270 and Enel (MI:ENEI) was up 2.05% or 0.100 points to 4.972 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which lost 2.05% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.18 in late trade. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) declined 1.90% or 0.200 points to end at 10.330 and Terna (MI:TRN) shed 1.43% or 0.070 points to 4.814.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 220 to 138 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.38% or 0.63 to $46.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.40% or 0.67 to hit $48.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.22 to trade at $1216.88 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.67.
