Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which unchanged 5.88% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 2.63% or 0.030 points to end at 1.170 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) was up 2.29% or 0.080 points to 3.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Credicorp (LM:BAP), which lost 1.35% or 3.15 points to trade at 231.00 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 1.05% or 0.300 points to end at 28.400 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 0.56% or 0.090 points to 15.870.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 12 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.69% or 0.47 to $68.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $74.68 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.55% or 7.30 to trade at $1316.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.61% to 3.2543, while EUR/PEN rose 0.29% to 3.9376.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 91.63.
