Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.03% or 0.620 points to trade at 12.950 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 4.06% or 0.013 points to end at 0.333 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 3.59% or 5.600 points to 161.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which lost 5.90% or 1.110 points to trade at 17.700 in late trade. Edegel (LM:EDE) declined 3.73% or 0.120 points to end at 3.100 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 3.68% or 0.700 points to 18.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.64% or 1.18 to $43.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $45.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 5.70 to trade at $1317.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3927, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7826.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.66.
