Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Property and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which rose 6.23% or 0.340 points to trade at 5.800 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 5.13% or 6.0000 points to end at 123.0000 and Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX) was up 4.00% or 0.330 points to 8.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI), which lost 1.41% or 0.220 points to trade at 15.380 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 0.89% or 0.550 points to end at 61.200 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) shed 0.86% or 0.75 points to 86.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 72 and 36 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.51% or 6.70 to $1329.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $47.67 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.15 to trade at $49.19 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.06% to 7.0994, while USD/PHP rose 0.09% to 47.030.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 96.21.
