Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.80% or 4.61 points to trade at 72.40 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 5.71% or 0.89 points to end at 16.49 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 3.52% or 0.17 points to 5.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 1.07% or 0.39 points to trade at 36.09 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 0.20% or 0.04 points to end at 20.09 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) gained 0.10% or 0.01 points to 10.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 301 to 169 and 192 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.92% or 1.35 to $47.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.20% or 1.51 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.58% or 7.55 to trade at $1290.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.4257, while USD/PLN fell 0.38% to 3.9302.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 94.43.
