So far, it looks like the markets are going to have a fairly quiet open on Friday morning.

The VIX is still on a daily and weekly sell signal, which tells us option traders are still expecting higher stock prices. Unfortunately, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Tesla (TSLA) are rolling over, which could take some momentum out of the major stock market indices.

The energy sector on both sides of the border have had a great run over the last month and is currently very overbought. The majority of the stocks in the Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE (NYSE:XLE)) or the iShares S&P/TSX Capped Energy Index ETF are up over 10% in the last month.

While we're not expecting to see sell signals in the next few days, it would be prudent to be locking in some profits at this time if you have not already done so. This is not the time to put new money into the energy sector.
