A tiny Nevada gold acquisition generated big gains for shareholders of a gold junior Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018:
Northern Empire Resources Corp. (V:NM) shares jumped 17% to $1.59 on Thursday after the gold junior announced that it has agreed to be acquired by Coeur Mining, Inc. in an all-stock transaction. Northern Empire will receive 0.1850 of a common shares of Coeur for each NM share held.
As well, shares of Endeavour Silver Corp. (TO:EDR) slipped 11% to $3.32 as the silver miner said it swung to a $5.7 million net loss in the second quarter of 2018 from breakeven during the same period last year.
Quarterhill Inc. (TO:QTRH), meanwhile, reported that a jury in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California awarded Quarterhill’s company WiLAN $145.1 million in damages against Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL). for infringement of WiLAN’s US patent Nos 8,457,145 and 8,537,757. Quarterhill stock popped 30% to $1.80 following the announcement.
Finally, Reliq Health Technologies Inc. (V:RHT) shares rose 8% to $1.63 after the mobile health technology company announced that it has signed contracts with two new home health agencies in Texas. Financial details were not disclosed.
