Investment Strategy

The Fund’s objective is to generate regular dividend and interest income and moderate long term capital growth. The Fund invests primarily in high quality dividend paying common and preferred shares of Canadian and U.S. issuers, as well as income trust units and/or fixed income securities of Canadian and U.S. issuers. The portfolio manager employs a bottom-up security selection process combined with a top-down overlay to determine the risk reward opportunity for each investment and the Fund’s overall positioning. The Fund may invest the equity component of its portfolio in common shares that pay dividends, preferred shares and income trust securities.

Biography	Daniel Bastasic has over 15 years of investment experience with extensive portfolio management experience in both equity and fixed income markets. Prior to joining IA Clarington, Mr. Bastasic built an impressive track record as a portfolio manager at a very large Canadian mutual fund company. At that company, Mr. Bastasic managed mutual funds with a combined $2.8 billion in assets under management, with one of the funds under his stewardship receiving a Lipper Award during his tenure as portfolio manager. Biography	Mr. Bernard became Vice President, Canadian Equities at Laurvest in January 1999. A Business Administration graduate of the University of Sherbrooke, he started his career as a mines, gold and chemicals analyst for the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Quebec in 1982, where he was promoted to portfolios manager, Canadian Equities in 1988. From 1995 to 1998, he was Vice President at Placements TAL. He has his CFA designation.

Biography	Mr. Duguay received his IDA in 1983. From 1981 to 1987, he was portfolio manager and from 1987 to 1994, he was director of Investment Services for Trust General. He is Vice President of fixed income for Trust Pret et Revenu since 1995.
