Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 4.38% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.429 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 3.77% or 0.120 points to end at 3.300 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 2.56% or 0.060 points to 2.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 6.86% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.950 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 6.45% or 0.770 points to end at 11.170 and Panoro (LM:PML) shed 3.45% or 0.005 points to 0.140.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 11 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.18% or 0.60 to $51.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.76% or 0.41 to hit $54.30 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.96% or 11.25 to trade at $1161.15 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.07% to 3.4065, while EUR/PEN fell 1.95% to 3.5989.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 101.61.
