Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA), which rose 2.27% or 0.150 points to trade at 6.750 at the close. Intergroup (LM:IFS) added 1.21% or 0.400 points to end at 33.400 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 1.18% or 0.080 points to 6.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 6.31% or 0.800 points to trade at 11.880 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 5.66% or 0.030 points to end at 0.500 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 4.71% or 0.040 points to 0.810.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 8 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.23% or 1.20 to $52.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.27% or 1.28 to hit $55.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.20% or 14.95 to trade at $1235.05 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.75% to 3.2840, while EUR/PEN fell 0.16% to 3.4421.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 102.17.
