Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 2.21% or 0.3250 points to trade at 15.0000 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 2.10% or 0.300 points to end at 14.600 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.25% or 0.0120 points to 0.9750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.99% or 0.0530 points to trade at 2.6050 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 0.60% or 0.019 points to end at 3.160 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.45% or 0.050 points to 11.175.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.13% or 0.56 to $48.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.16% or 0.54 to hit $45.89 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.83% or 10.24 to trade at $1216.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.0875, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8407.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 99.49.
