Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 3.30%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which rose 15.69% or 0.629 points to trade at 4.637 at the close. Meanwhile, Gamesa (MC:GAM) added 9.47% or 1.305 points to end at 15.085 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 6.90% or 0.577 points to 8.937 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 1.08% or 0.036 points to trade at 3.297 at the close. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.41% or 0.070 points to end at 17.225 and Red Electrica Corp. (MC:REE) was up 0.43% or 0.310 points to 73.150.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 185 to 30 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1099.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 7.21% or 2.13 to hit $31.66 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 7.98% or 2.33 to trade at $31.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0810, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.7567.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 99.50.
