Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Trading and Palm Oil sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 20.45% or 3.60 points to trade at 21.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 17.76% or 9.50 points to end at 63.00 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) was up 15.91% or 5.60 points to 40.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 13.46% or 350.10 points to trade at 2250.00 at the close. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) declined 11.67% or 70.00 points to end at 530.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 11.11% or 0.10 points to 0.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 130 to 71 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.53% or 0.52 to $33.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.58% or 0.21 to hit $35.78 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.50% or 5.60 to trade at $1122.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 206.730, while USD/LKR rose 0.66% to 144.955.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 99.44.
