Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.73% or 0.1240 points to trade at 3.4480 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.59% or 0.0450 points to end at 1.7800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.37% or 0.2600 points to 11.2150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 6.16% or 0.4500 points to trade at 6.8600 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.74% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1690 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.64% or 0.0003 points to 0.0180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 31 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.86% or 0.38 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.98% or 0.41 to hit $41.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.66% or 22.75 to trade at $1344.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1084, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8481.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.20.
