Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII), which rose 4.37% or 0.0152 points to trade at 0.3628 at the close. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) added 2.31% or 0.0480 points to end at 2.1240 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 1.83% or 0.0400 points to 2.2200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 2.04% or 0.0083 points to trade at 0.3977 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 1.55% or 0.2000 points to end at 12.6700 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 1.42% or 0.095 points to 6.605.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 188 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.89% or 1.42 to $47.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.91% or 1.48 to hit $49.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1343.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8614.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.53.
