Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Media, Basic Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 0.58% or 0.32 points to trade at 55.65 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.40% or 0.02 points to end at 5.07 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 0.12% or 0.01 points to 8.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 3.46% or 1.97 points to trade at 54.95 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 2.24% or 0.57 points to end at 24.87 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 2.05% or 7.15 points to 342.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 300 to 221 and 199 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.15% or 1.40 to $45.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.30 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.85 to trade at $1343.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.03% to 4.2946, while USD/PLN fell 0.36% to 3.8121.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.10.
