Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 0.08% or 0.03 points to trade at 35.99 at the close. Relx NV (AS:RELN) fell 0.19% or 0.030 points to end at 15.910 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was down 0.20% or 0.07 points to 37.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon (AS:AEGN), which lost 1.94% or 0.101 points to trade at 5.099 in late trade. NN Group (AS:NN) declined 1.84% or 0.59 points to end at 31.66 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) shed 1.71% or 0.045 points to 2.590.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 42 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.42% to 14.73.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.10% or 0.59 to $53.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.39% or 0.79 to hit $56.02 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 10.95 to trade at $1231.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.0739, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8621.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 100.01.
