Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Korres (AT:KRRr), which rose 5.66% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.670 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 2.59% or 0.030 points to end at 1.190 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 2.43% or 0.120 points to 5.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 14.15% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.091 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 7.58% or 0.025 points to end at 0.305 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 6.90% or 0.016 points to 0.216.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 23 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.19% or 2.44 to $1253.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.39% or 0.20 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.19 to trade at $53.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1183, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8639.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.27.
