Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which rose 3.43% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.013 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.53% or 0.52 points to end at 21.07 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 1.92% or 0.290 points to 15.425 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 2.65% or 5.90 points to trade at 216.80 in late trade. Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) declined 1.96% or 0.57 points to end at 28.71 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) shed 1.44% or 0.85 points to 58.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.90% to 17.54.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.61% or 0.79 to $49.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.70% or 0.85 to hit $50.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1269.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0892, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8949.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 98.94.
