Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Industrial Metals & Mining and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Anglo American PLC (L:AAL), which rose 11.80% or 26.75 points to trade at 253.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Glencore PLC (L:GLEN) added 7.73% or 6.2500 points to end at 87.1000 and Fresnillo PLC (L:FRES) was up 5.55% or 36.50 points to 694.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EasyJet PLC (L:EZJ), which fell 3.19% or 52.000 points to trade at 1579.000 at the close. Shire PLC (L:SHP) declined 2.92% or 124.00 points to end at 4123.00 and Mondi PLC (L:MNDI) was down 2.69% or 32.00 points to 1160.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1072 to 1066 and 368 ended unchanged.

Gold for February delivery was up 1.14% or 12.60 to $1117.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 4.61% or 1.40 to hit $31.74 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 4.81% or 1.50 to trade at $32.81 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.80% to 1.4362, while EUR/GBP fell 0.83% to 0.7551.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 99.17.
