Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.35% or 1.870 points to trade at 57.710 at the close. ASML Holding (AS:ASML) added 2.35% or 2.20 points to end at 95.93 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 1.97% or 0.58 points to 30.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 3.75% or 0.78 points to trade at 19.87 in late trade. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 2.39% or 0.50 points to end at 20.40 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.57% or 0.25 points to 15.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 65 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.32% to 18.21.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.59% or 0.27 to $45.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.58% or 0.27 to hit $46.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1224.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0653, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8552.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 100.69.
