Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 0.76% or 0.020 points to trade at 2.640 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.75% or 0.04 points to end at 5.39 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 0.62% or 0.24 points to 38.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which lost 3.99% or 6.10 points to trade at 146.68 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 3.15% or 1.70 points to end at 52.30 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) shed 2.98% or 0.17 points to 5.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 289 to 206 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.31% or 1.17 to $49.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.27% or 1.18 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1273.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.61% to 4.3615, while USD/PLN rose 0.92% to 3.8655.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 94.38.
