Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 2.90% or 0.680 points to trade at 24.100 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.62% or 11.14 points to end at 436.12 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 2.34% or 0.530 points to 23.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 2.12% or 0.42 points to trade at 19.36 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 1.35% or 0.430 points to end at 31.500 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 1.20% or 0.640 points to 52.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 143 to 137 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.32% or 3.85 to $1219.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.18% or 1.46 to hit $47.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.02% or 1.47 to trade at $50.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.88% to 19.0027, while EUR/MXN fell 0.96% to 20.6478.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 99.51.
