Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 4.58% or 0.210 points to trade at 4.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Alicorp (LM:ALI) added 3.51% or 0.200 points to end at 5.900 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 2.62% or 0.110 points to 4.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which fell 6.00% or 0.300 points to trade at 4.700 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.00% or 0.005 points to end at 0.095 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was down 2.50% or 0.003 points to 0.120.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 13 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relapasa (LM:REL) fell to all time lows; falling 2.50% or 0.003 to 0.120.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.76% or 0.28 to $37.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $40.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.40 to trade at $1072.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.15% to 3.3685, while EUR/PEN rose 0.38% to 3.6767.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.12% at 97.32.
