Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Construction & Engineering and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) added 14.29% or 120.00 points to end at 960.00 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was up 9.61% or 40.40 points to 461.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Janashakthi Insurance Company PLC (CM:JINS), which fell 12.17% or 2.80 points to trade at 20.20 at the close. Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) declined 11.32% or 3.00 points to end at 23.50 and Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) was down 10.84% or 12.80 points to 105.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 170 to 59 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) rose to all time highs; gaining 14.29% or 120.00 to 960.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.56% or 0.65 to $40.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 0.79 to hit $46.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.98% or 11.00 to trade at $1138.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.58% to 208.575, while USD/LKR fell 0.71% to 133.005.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 96.26.
