Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.61% or 0.0540 points to trade at 2.1260 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.04% or 0.1000 points to end at 9.7390 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was up 0.84% or 0.0320 points to 3.8360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA), which fell 4.69% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.5080 at the close. Banif SA (LS:BANIF) declined 4.17% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0024 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 2.74% or 0.0900 points to 3.1980.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 40 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.69% or 0.0250 to 0.5080.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 3.51% or 1.57 to $46.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.38% or 1.41 to hit $43.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.75% or 8.00 to trade at $1074.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.0649, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.7066.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 99.65.
