Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 3.51% or 0.310 points to trade at 9.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) added 3.23% or 4.990 points to end at 159.550 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 3.06% or 1.23 points to 41.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC), which fell 2.26% or 1.170 points to trade at 50.700 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 1.10% or 0.140 points to end at 12.560 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 1.18% or 0.380 points to 31.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 114 to 51 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.80% or 8.60 to $1072.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.36 to hit $36.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.21 to trade at $36.14 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.15% to 17.1861, while EUR/MXN rose 0.51% to 18.8270.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 98.23.
