Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 6.27% or 0.570 points to trade at 9.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 4.02% or 2.81 points to end at 72.65 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 3.91% or 14.250 points to 379.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 2.30% or 0.430 points to trade at 18.300 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.95% or 0.870 points to end at 43.670 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 1.90% or 0.78 points to 40.29.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 99 to 58 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.30% or 0.430 to 18.300.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.50% or 5.40 to $1068.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.41% or 1.59 to hit $37.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.25% or 1.53 to trade at $37.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.26% to 17.2353, while EUR/MXN fell 0.14% to 18.8106.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 98.36.
