Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which rose 4.96% or 2.02 points to trade at 42.74 at the close. Brisa (IS:BRISA) added 3.38% or 0.27 points to end at 8.27 and Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) was up 2.74% or 0.12 points to 4.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 15.25% or 0.90 points to trade at 5.00 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.220 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) shed 3.44% or 0.19 points to 5.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 117 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.92% or 11.20 to $1230.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.11% or 0.04 to hit $35.74 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.02 to trade at $37.71 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 2.8313, while EUR/TRY rose 0.66% to 3.2255.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.59.
