Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 2.00% or 2.60 points to trade at 132.80 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.02% or 0.405 points to end at 39.985 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.81% or 0.110 points to 13.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which lost 1.34% or 0.69 points to trade at 50.79 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.81% or 0.55 points to end at 67.28 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.76% or 0.490 points to 63.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 48 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.65 to $1225.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.36 to trade at $55.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.0566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8484.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.34.
