KINSHASA, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Ivanhoe Mines' IVN.TO Kamoa
project in southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, thought to
be the world's largest untouched high-grade copper discovery,
expects to begin production by the end of 2018, a company
executive said on Thursday.
Louis Watum, Ivanhoe's managing director in Congo, said at
a mining conference in the capital Kinshasa that a feasibility
study on the project, a joint venture with China's Zijin Mining
601899.SS and the Congolese state, should be completed by the
end of this year.
