Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.72% or 0.131 points to trade at 4.949 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 2.60% or 0.090 points to end at 3.551 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 2.53% or 0.044 points to 1.784 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL), which fell 4.75% or 0.329 points to trade at 6.597 at the close. Abengoa B (MC:ABGek) declined 4.08% or 0.039 points to end at 0.916 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 2.75% or 0.281 points to 9.949.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 129 to 87 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.11% or 11.90 to $1080.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.81% or 0.34 to hit $41.61 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $44.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.0735, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7016.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 99.02.
