Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.10%, while the MDAX index gained 0.01%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which rose 1.28% or 0.091 points to trade at 7.201 at the close. Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) added 1.15% or 0.430 points to end at 37.855 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 1.03% or 0.190 points to 18.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which lost 1.26% or 0.215 points to trade at 16.800 in late trade. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) declined 0.63% or 0.150 points to end at 23.595 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) shed 0.54% or 0.410 points to 75.020.
The top performers on the MDAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which rose 1.65% to 119.800, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 1.63% to settle at 105.800 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which gained 1.62% to close at 37.215.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 3.38% to 64.980 in late trade, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which lost 2.28% to settle at 34.510 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 1.68% to 55.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 6.03% to 13.890, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was up 4.62% to settle at 9.937 and Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which gained 4.43% to close at 38.90.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 1.02% to 49.745 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 0.59% to settle at 38.880 and Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which was down 0.44% to 35.015 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 412 to 317 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.30% to 15.74.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.35 to $1256.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.42% or 0.77 to hit $53.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.70 to trade at $55.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.0617, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 100.92.
