Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC), which rose 3.30% or 0.420 points to trade at 13.160 at the close. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 2.11% or 28.00 points to end at 1352.00 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.10% or 8.000 points to 736.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 4.68% or 57.000 points to trade at 1160.000 in late trade. Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) declined 4.04% or 7.60 points to end at 180.50 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 3.96% or 0.540 points to 13.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 74 and 38 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.41% or 16.60 to $1195.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.24% or 0.57 to hit $45.49 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.57 to trade at $47.67 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.03% to 7.2062, while USD/PHP fell 0.24% to 49.736.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 100.82.
