Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Trading, Investment Trust and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.11% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 21.79% or 294.10 points to trade at 1643.90 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 19.90% or 57.90 points to end at 348.90 and Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) was up 18.84% or 269.30 points to 1698.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA), which lost 16.71% or 122.00 points to trade at 608.00 in late trade. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 10.20% or 4.60 points to end at 40.50 and Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) shed 9.93% or 2.70 points to 24.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 62 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.55% or 0.74 to $46.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.66% or 0.83 to hit $49.16 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.95 to trade at $1337.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 193.920, while USD/LKR rose 0.19% to 145.785.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.03.
