Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 3.70% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) added 3.23% or 0.500 points to end at 16.000 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 2.87% or 0.290 points to 10.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which lost 2.51% or 0.490 points to trade at 19.010 in late trade. Ferreyros (LM:FER) declined 1.19% or 0.020 points to end at 1.660 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 0.89% or 0.29 points to 32.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 6 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.87% or 0.46 to $53.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.11% or 0.61 to hit $55.53 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.78% or 8.95 to trade at $1133.75 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.03% to 3.4015, while EUR/PEN fell 0.46% to 3.5381.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 103.28.
