Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 3.19% or 1.75 points to trade at 56.68 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.93% or 0.28 points to end at 29.88 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.84% or 0.62 points to 74.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which lost 1.45% or 1.80 points to trade at 122.70 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 0.83% or 0.27 points to end at 32.08 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) shed 0.68% or 0.31 points to 45.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 47 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.10% or 1.19 to $1228.09 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.69% or 0.32 to hit $45.90 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.42 to trade at $48.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.0929, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8447.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
