Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 4.17% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.750 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.70% or 0.58 points to end at 22.10 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) was up 2.22% or 0.14 points to 6.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ENI (MI:ENI), which lost 2.32% or 0.34 points to trade at 14.31 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 2.05% or 0.0780 points to end at 3.7300 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) shed 1.81% or 0.072 points to 3.898.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 207 to 148 and 12 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.29% or 0.63 to $49.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.91% or 0.47 to hit $51.93 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.39 to trade at $1265.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.41.
