Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Industrials and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.29%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.20%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG), which rose 3.06% or 0.570 points to trade at 19.200 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.16% or 0.200 points to end at 9.477 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 2.12% or 0.690 points to 33.185 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which lost 1.13% or 0.215 points to trade at 18.855 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) declined 0.31% or 0.270 points to end at 87.370 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) shed 0.31% or 0.060 points to 19.600.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which rose 4.60% to 46.80, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 2.14% to settle at 96.50 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 1.91% to close at 13.890.
The worst performers were STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which was down 3.09% to 61.790 in late trade, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which lost 0.82% to settle at 40.69 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 0.82% to 64.170 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 3.50% to 10.645, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was up 2.77% to settle at 13.861 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which gained 2.48% to close at 250.00.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 3.65% to 38.250 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 2.18% to settle at 26.050 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was down 2.04% to 18.760 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 379 to 336 and 21 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.63% to 12.65.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.92% or 11.50 to $1244.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.74% or 0.32 to hit $43.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.23 to trade at $45.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8792.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 97.02.
