Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Real Estate and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 3.15%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa), which rose 6.43% or 1.12 points to trade at 18.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 4.60% or 10.05 points to end at 228.65 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 4.56% or 1.32 points to 30.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 1.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.30 at the close. TNT Express (AS:TNTE) declined 0.13% or 0.010 points to end at 7.750 and Philips Kon (AS:PHG) was down 0.09% or 0.02 points to 22.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 159 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 11.33% to 27.98.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 7.21% or 2.13 to $31.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 7.98% or 2.33 to hit $31.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1099.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0810, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.7567.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 99.50.
