Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which rose 9.71% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.373 at the close. Meanwhile, Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 5.83% or 0.006 points to end at 0.109 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was up 4.35% or 0.003 points to 0.072 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 7.87% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.082 at the close. Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) declined 5.00% or 0.007 points to end at 0.133 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was down 4.05% or 0.30 points to 7.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 47 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Centric Hold (AT:DESr) fell to all time lows; falling 7.87% or 0.007 to 0.082. Shares in Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) fell to all time lows; falling 5.00% or 0.007 to 0.133.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.39% or 4.40 to $1115.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.04 to hit $31.41 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.28 to trade at $32.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0865, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7628.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 99.19.
