Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare Equipment & Services and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.57% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 15.25% or 3.9 points to trade at 29.3 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 14.09% or 3.09 points to end at 25.02 and Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) was up 5.92% or 1.70 points to 30.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 4.75% or 0.28 points to trade at 5.62 in late trade. Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) declined 2.55% or 1.70 points to end at 65.00 and Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) shed 0.33% or 1.0 points to 298.2.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 60 and 21 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.01% or 0.49 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.55% or 6.70 to trade at $1222.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.06% to 9.3045, while USD/NOK fell 0.19% to 8.3399.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.45.
