Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Retail and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 5.71% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.148 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 5.36% or 0.60 points to end at 11.80 and Reds (AT:CAMr) was up 3.27% or 0.013 points to 0.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 15.62% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.108 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 4.56% or 0.043 points to end at 0.900 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 3.66% or 0.020 points to 0.526.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 37 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.0989, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
